Adopting a cat is a serious commitment

Before adopting a cat, please consider that pets require time and patience and the cost of veterinary care, food, and other supplies.

New cats should have a separate room with a door that closes for the transition period.

Also consider if anyone in the house has any allergies.

SENIOR ADOPTERS

We warmly welcome senior adopters. Please use our 82/13 rule:

- When you turn 82, your cat should be at least 13 years old.

Quick check: minimum cat age now = your age − 69.

• Example: you’re 75 → 75−69=6 → choose a cat 6+ years old.

• Example: you’re 80 → 80−69=11 → choose a cat 11+ years old.

If a cat reaches their senior years (around 13+) and sadly loses their beloved Meowmommy or Meowdaddy, we understand that, in some cases, the most compassionate choice may be to let them go peacefully. This helps ensure we can keep space in our foster homes to welcome more homeless cats in urgent need, and with over 200,000 in the GTA, every space matters.

Please do a quick math check before applying. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.
